There have only been a few times when I have had the occasion to participate actively in musical experiences. The first was as a member of the chorus in Broadway-type plays in high school, specifically Student Prince, Oklahoma, and The Wizard of Oz. I once had a recording of our performance of the Wizard of Oz but I'm sure that is long lost. My second experience with music was as part of the 24-man choir at St. Joseph's Seminary from 1960 to 1963. I learned only recently that recordings had been made of some of the sacred music we sang in those years. Here are two excerpts from hymns I participated in that were captured in "A Treasury of Sacred Music." Christus
Factus Est is a Gregorian Chant
O Esca Viatorum is 4-part harmony My third experience with music
happened in 1993, when I was producing a series of videos called
"Echoes of Faith." I had a chance to co-compose the theme music
for that series with Tim Cissel from Texas.
